As a Georgetown University Law Center member, how long can I check out a Law Library book? What is the loan period? How many books can I have checked out at a time?

Answer

General loan period policies  applicable to Georgetown Law members for Law Library books may be found on the Borrowing Books & Materials web page. The loan period for books borrowed from local academic libraries would be similar to the check-out period for the Law Library's general collection books. Law faculty may be afforded a longer loan period than other patrons, but the length may vary.

Loan period for books borrowed through Interlibrary Loan will vary, depending on the lending library's policy, and can range from three to six weeks. More information may be found on the ILL FAQ page.

All books from any library can be recalled, shortening the length of the overall loan period.

At present, Georgetown Law Students can check out as many as 50 Law Library books checked out to their Library Account at any time.
