How long does it take for an Interlibrary Loan item to arrive?

I placed an ILLiad request and want to know when it may arrive.

Answer

The delivery turnaround time for ILL requests varies depending on what type of material it is, how many libraries own a copy, how many of those have a readily available copy or ILL-shareable access, etc. Scans of pages can arrive in a few hours to three working days. Books can take three to seven working days to arrive. Holidays can extend the turnaround time by another day or two.

This and other commonly asked questions about Interlibrary Loan are answered in the ILL FAQ guide. Feel free to contact ILL service atlaw-ill@georgetown.edu if you need help.

ILL service is separate from Consortium Loan Service (CLS). Questions about borrowing books directly from the local Washington Research Library Consortium (WRLC) or local academic libraries can be posed to the Circulation Desk or 202-662-9131.
