Is there assigned seating in the Law Library?

Answer

There are no assigned seats per se in the library. There are carrels and research shelves that can be reserved by upper class or graduate students who have special research and writing needs. But even reserved carrels are open for anyone to use when it is not occupied by the assignee. The library has group study rooms that can be reserved for a period of three hours per groups of two or more students. There are also single user Zoom rooms available through the reservation calendar.

Though not reservable, the library has set aside space on the first floor for Open Collaboration and break out rooms.

Our New Student guide provides suggestions for places in the library to study.
